IC156-WLAN-HP allows users to connect any Hewlett Packard printer with EIO port to any WLAN environment, entirely eliminating the need for cables. It supports two operating modes – infrastructure mode (access point mode) and AdHoc mode (Peer-to-Peer), therefore, also allowing direct communication between WLAN devices (laptops, etc.) and the attached printer. The operating mode used is automatically detected by the print server. It allows transmission distances in the open space up to 160 m, in typical office buildings up to 30 m. The IC156 uses 64/128 bits WEP encryption for eaves-dropping-secure data transfer.
