Didn’t get this product, they sent me a different model Linksys 2 bay as a replacement that doesn’t do what this product does they said that they didn’t carry this product and opted to send a replacement which was not even half as good as the product ordered. buyer beware of what you are ordering they do send cheaper replacements.

The backup software included with this product is a mess. After using it for about a month and contacting customer support for help, I pulled it off three computers in my home network. Planning to use the network hard drive with other software, I now find that I must log onto this drive on each restart of each computer. After two weeks working with WD Customer Support, they have not been able to help me remove the mandatory manual log-in. And yesterday a new Samsung TV did it without a password. Obviously, the TV has a higher intelligence than I possess. So this may become a very expensive book-end. Been doing IT work for 46 years and this brick has me stumped.

This product was awful. It was extremely slow, unresponsive and was the biggest frustration I have dealt with. I returned this the same day I opened it. I instead went with another companies product. The only good experience I have had with Western Digital has been their Black and Green Drives (bare drives). I would not suggest this to anyone.

I bought this drive thinking that I can use this for our business use as part of windows Active Directory Domain as a storage server. But the support for AD is not very good. I am not able to retrieve the list of users and groups from AD for setting up permissions.

I called the support and they said that some time in the future it will be fixed. But they are not sure when would that be (!!!). So if you are planning to use it as a NAS storage server for business, then I would recommend buying it.

I am going to return it.
